'I love 2016' says Alvaro Espinoza and it's hard to disagree when this El Niño-affected vintage produced something as good as this blend of mostly Syrah, Carmenère and Cabernet Sauvignon with lesser amounts of Mourvèdre, Malbec, Garnacha and Tempranillo. Elegant, refined, yet not lacking concentration, it's a polished, complex red with haunting perfume, stylish oak and violet, white pepper and vanilla spice top notes. Drink date: 2020-2030. Score - 96. (Tim Atkin, MW, timatkin.com, Chile Special Report 2019)
